My Food Recommendations For NYC

If you are looking for food recommendations and the best places to eat in NYC, I have made a list of my personal favourites for you! Although there will be a TON of other amazing eats, these are some delicious places to start.
New York City is famous for its diverse and impressive culinary scene, so any trip to the city undoubtably has to include experiencing this. My trip was no different, and during the three days I spend in NYC, I took any opportunity I had to taste as much as possible. Unfortunately, a full stomach got in my way more than once – but if it hadn’t, you best believe I had continued eating! These are my food recommendations for NYC based on my personal favourites:
Great Breakfast Spots In NYC
MUD (Mudspot Restaurant)
This amazing brunch place in East Village serve delicious brunch plates all day long! They have a really interesting selection ranging from yoghurt bowls to Mexican breakfasts and pancakes. We loved sitting in their back room, which feels like a roofed, peaceful garden.
Adress: 307 E 9th St, New York, NY 10003, USA

The Grey Dog (Flatiron)
Another great brunch spot is the Grey Dog, which has three locations in NYC. The Grey Dog at Flatiron is a really convenient brunch spot, if you are planning to explore the Empire State Building or Chelsea next. The food and atmosphere at the café was just amazing, and it is one of my top food recommendations for NYC! They serve plenty of traditional American breakfast plates such as pancakes, waffles and eggs, but also a big selection of sandwiches and burgers!
Adress: 55 W 26th St, New York, NY 10010, USA

A Must-Try Lunch Spot IN NYC
Katz’s Delicatessen
Katz’s Deli is undoubtably one of the best places to go for a pastrami sandwich in NYC. This deli is the oldest in NYC and famous amongst celebrities, locals and tourists alike. It was such an interesting experience to enter and get to sample different types of meats before choosing our preference for the sandwich! The walls are filled with pictures of famous and historically significant people, who have continued to visit the deli for some slices of that delicious meat… And so should you!
Adress: 205 E Houston St, New York, NY 10002, USA

Amazing Pizzas In NYC
Village Square Pizza (Upper East Side)
Village Square Pizza has to be one of my top food recommendations, if you are looking for a great pizza in NYC! We tried the one at the Upper East Side, as we were looking for a quick lunch after roaming around Central Park… But there are 3 other places in NYC to choose from! Although it is not the typical New York pizza, I highly recommend you try it. After all, no one says you can’t try several pizzas during your stay!
Adress: 1200 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10028, USA

Joe’s Pizza
Joe’s Pizza is your typical, New York style pizza, which has been raved about on social media and amongst visitors. They are placed all around New York City, and you will often find a long queue in front of it. There is a reason for this! I personally loved the slices I have tried, and it is highly affordable too. Sometimes places deserve the hype they get.
Adress: 1435 Broadway, New York, NY 10018, USA

Delicious Sweet Snack In NYC
Levain Bakery
The famous cookies of Levain Bakery have been all over social media, so of course I had to try them too! After all, not all hyped places live up to the expectations… But this one did! The cookie was SO full of flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside and mooshy on the inside. Just a small warning: It is so incredible sweet, that I actually spend days finishing it – but this just meant the treat lasted longer!
Adress: 340 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012, USA (and several other places in the city)
My Favorite Mexican Fastfood In NYC
Los Tacos No. 1
I couldn’t end this post of food recommendations for NYC without talking about Los Tacos No. 1. These Mexican fast food places are spread around NYC and highly popular amongst tourists and locals alike. I was pleasently surprised by the low prices, and the tacos we got were amazing! So if you are craving a bit of Mexican food, these places are a top recommendation in NYC!
