Language: In the majority of Canada, the official language is English – but in Quebec and some areas of Ontario, French as the first language. You will find that almost everyone speaks English even in the French parts.

Best time to visit: The best time of year to visit Canada really depends on what you are planning to do. May-August are the most popular months due to highest chance of summer weather and great hiking opportunities. Visiting in September-November will give you fewer crowds, milder weather and lower costs of travel. And if you are heading to Canada to go skiing, December-March is your time!
Solo travel safety: Canada is generally a very safe country for solo travel! As with any other country, you should always take safety reprecautions in areas, that might be unsafe.
