What To Expect

Language: The official language of the Czech Republic is czech and while visiting the country, you will find that the locals vary greatly in terms of their English vocabulary. Some might have very limited English skills – but don’t worry! If you are mainly visiting the stunning Prague and going on daytrips, you can easily speak with waiters, tour guides and locals in the area.

Currency: Czech Koruna (CZK) – but they also accept euros in most places except small shops and markets

Best time to visit: The best time of year to visit Prague will likely be from May to September – but several other months has some amazing advantages too! For more details, check out my detailed Prague Guide below!

Solo travel safety: If you are planning on visiting Prague on a solo trip, you will be in safe hands! The city is generally very safe, as long as you use common sense and stay within the most central areas of the city. And stay mindful of your valuables in crowded areas! The same goes for the other bigger cities in the country – use general solo travel safety precautions and you will be fine.
